The other stories are easy reads, great for these cold winter nights. I was introduced to Christina Dodd and enjoy her writing style. This is worth every penny to read.

There are some anthologies that really grip you & keep you enthralled with all of them, & this is one of them. I read all 3 stories in less than 2 days.
SHOTGUN BRIDE Charlotte has had a accident by Josh's ranch & is rescued by him. Because of the blizzard he can't get her home till it clears. He is confronted by her brothers all armed with shotguns. After the wedding because he thinks she lied to her brothers Josh totally humiliates her on their wedding night. Realising his mistake after talking to Charlie's preacher father he tries to put things right...
WILD TEXAS ROSE 8 years after sending the man she loved to jail for stealing a saddle, Thorn Maxwell is back in town looking for Rose. Does he want revenge or something else?
ONE RIOT, ONE RANGER Marty is the sheriff of Loon, Texas, a totally lawless place. She prays for help from a Texas ranger & what she gets is Chris, an ex-con who is thrown back in time about 100 years.
I bought this book for the last story by Susan Sizemore having just read her 2 time travels "Wings of the storm" & "After the storm". All the stories are great, my one disapointment is that they are not longer. I'd love to read more stories about Loon. It would make a fantastic series. The same would go for the other 2.
SHOTGUN BRIDE by Catherine Anderson - 3 STARS

Preacher's daughter Charlotte Masterson was heartily sick of being the spinster of Juniper Hollow. So it was a happy coincidence that found her in a blizzard with Joshua Slade, the most desirable though notorious man in town.

Oddly enough Ms. Anderson was the reason I bought this book, but her story was the one I liked the least. Although she's a fantastic author, it seems to me that her shorter stories just don't have the the strength that her full length novels do. It was rather slow going at times and not entirely buyable either. Charlie and Slade only spent two nights together, hardly enough time to make me believe they truly fell in love. And while both were nice, they were also a bit dull with no real spark or passion between them. Though not exactly boring, neither was it very exciting. Just an average read overall.

WILD TEXAS ROSE by Christina Dodd - 5 STARS

"You're going to be mine." Those were the last words Rose heard from young Thorn Maxwell before her testimony sent him off to jail. Now he was back, handsome and bold as you please... and intent on keeping his promise.

This was my favorite of the three and for a novella I thought it was really great. I've read numerous books by Ms. Dodd before and after this one I think I'll be looking for more from her soon. Rose and Thorn had grown up together as children, fell in love as teenagers, and were then separated for nearly nine years. Their connection, passion, and chemistry is apparent throughout and both were entirely lovable characters. Especially Thorn though who was strong, handsome, charming, funny, and immensely wonderful. Just an excellent little romance that I'd happily recommend and wouldn't hesitate to read again.

ONE RIOT, ONE RANGER by Susan Sizemore - 5 STARS

Sheriff Martha Wirth prayed for a man to help her tame Loon, the most lawless place this side of Hades. Texas Ranger Chris Parris was a godsend... even if he claimed to be from one hundred years in the future!

Though I'd heard of Susan Sizemore before, I hadn't read anything by her prior to picking up this short but delightful tale. Being a time-travel romance it may not be the most realistic love story, but it was a ton of fun to read nonetheless. There was never a dull moment and I was continuously surprised with how cute and funny this book was. Marty and Chris were both adorable and absolutely perfect for each other too. And though I don't usually enjoy the few days together and we're in love theme, this one was actually buyable since fate had a hand in it. Just a lovely and entertaining novella overall, and one that left me with a smile on my face =)

This book contained the last story I needed to complete Catherine Anderson novels.
